The Indian Endeavour will be supporting three charities with youth facing projects. One of the charities The Endeavour will support is Shiksha Rath, which is a long-term initiative providing after school classes, nutritious meals and healthcare to almost a hundred of Delhi’s poorest children through the slum academy. The second charity which The Endeavour will support is Nyingtob Ling, which is Dharamshala’s first rehabilitation centre for exiled Tibetans with special needs. Established in 1999 with the encouragement of the Dalai Lama, Nyingtob Ling’s dedicated team now provide essential and loving care for over 50-children and adults. Thirdly, a charity known as The Gurkha Welfare Trust will also be supported by The Endeavour. The Trust achieves this mission by providing financial, medical and development aid to Gurkha veterans, their families and communities.
I have packed various items of clothing ranging from Murano wool thermals to Trespass tech tops (both long and short sleeve). As I stare owl-eyed at the pile of clothing, toiletries, copious numbers of spare socks, I wonder how I am going to carry all of it up the snowy peaks of the Himalayas! I am a girl who likes her makeup, so despite the hours of training I have sweated over, the hardest thing for me is saying au revoir to my Mac mascara. I am both excited and nervous for the adventure which lays ahead; I shall see you on the other side!
